The Café by Kitchen of Purpose sits along Columbia Pike in Arlington as a quietly inviting spot that blends comfort with purposeful simplicity. It’s the kind of café where neighbors come for a focused breakfast or a relaxed midday meal without the hustle. The atmosphere leans toward calm and clean, making it an easy pick for people who want to work quietly or catch up over coffee without noise distractions.

Locals appreciate the thoughtful menu that balances hearty favorites and vegan-friendly options. Breakfast staples like the burrito stuffed with chorizo, black beans, and creamy avocado crema stand out as satisfying ways to start the day. By lunchtime, the fried chicken sandwiches—especially the Nashville hot honey and Asian-inspired versions—draw repeat visits. These aren’t just sandwiches; they’re crafted with care, including housemade pretzel rolls and fresh toppings that avoid the typical fast-casual feel.

The café’s clientele ranges from early risers grabbing a bite to fuel their morning, to remote workers appreciating the calm environment and reliable WiFi. While seating is ample, the space doesn’t push crowds or loud chatter, encouraging a studious or thoughtful vibe that feels a bit rare for a neighborhood café. This sense of calm pairs well with their well-prepared coffee, which complements the food without overpowering it.

One subtle but meaningful detail is the emphasis on friendly, attentive service—staff here come across as genuinely engaged rather than rushed. Visitors have noticed the café’s price points as reasonable, which helps keep the space accessible across different kinds of daily users. While some have hoped for more sustainable cutlery options, this is a minor note amid what feels like a well-curated local spot.

Best times to visit are weekday mornings for a peaceful breakfast or early afternoon for a casual lunch break. It’s a place that fits perfectly into the rhythm of Arlington’s Columbia Pike corridor, offering neighbors a thoughtful alternative to busier chains nearby.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch! Their fried chicken sandwiches are amazing. Staff were kind and attentive. So many breakfast and lunch options to choose from that are all great. We had no idea this place was in our neighborhood and will definitely be returning!

Lovely cafe on Columbia pike! I only wish more people WFH here to create a more studious atmosphere! Free WiFi, good food and drinks, and plenty of seating spaces. I’ve come twice.. wondering if others haven’t stumbled upon it yet.

Loved the burrito for breakfast and the chicken sandwich for lunch. Vegan options too. The only thing I would change would be would like to have metal (real) silverware.

I enjoyed a great meal with mocha coffee, a sandwich, and yuca. The mocha was rich and perfectly balanced, the sandwich simple but satisfying, and the yuca crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a delicious dipping sauce. Overall, a satisfying, flavorful experience. I'll definitely return!

12/5/24 @ 9am Food, price, and service 5 STARS!!!!! Outstanding customer service! Lovely atmosphere. With so many fast food places in the area, this is a great spot for a fresh, quality breakfast or lunch! I ordered a latte and the bacon, egg, & cheese on a croissant with strawberry preserves. Quality ingredients! Loved that when I asked for jelly I got preserves in a cute little jar with real fruit (not jelly), such a nice addition. I will definitely come back often for breakfast. Looking forward to trying a Reuben sandwich on my next visit.
